Urban Luxury Concept by Cadillac

Cadillac reigns as the #1 name in luxury when it comes to American autos. Their vehicles go beyond the pretty aesthetics like the updated Cadillac CTS - they're utilitarian as well. If you needed more proof than the cars available at Cadillac of Novi - 41350 Grand River Ave in Novi, MI, look into the hype around the company's Urban Luxury Concept.

This Caddy will be against foreign car makers, in addition to American brands. The vehicle first made an appearance at the LA Auto Show last year, and when it was posted to the website this year, the buzz was in high gear on the social media sites

With a small wheelbase, the car looks like a mix between Cadillac models from the past 5 years and Chevrolet's defunct Aveo5 / upcoming Sonic hatchback.

"The car's tall narrow exterior carries the brand's "Art and Design" styling which makes this tall hatchback look less like an econocar and more like a set piece from "Tron." Two large Koenigsegg-like doors rotate outward and forward to give access to both the front and rear seats."1

The reason for the slimmer sleek design with a little more height is to make it more compatible to maneuver tight city streets. Inside, Cadillac 'ULC' boasts touch screens and projectors, replacing traditional interfaces for space efficiency.

If the details weren't getting good enough, Cadillac's Urban Luxury Concept is also a hybrid. Details are limited when it comes to the powertrain, but engine specs include a turbocharged 1.0-Liter three cylinder engine. Estimates place the car's fuel economy at 56 mpg city, 65 highway.
